    Childcare Vouchers

Childcare Vouchers help parents to fund children's childcare. And the costs are offset against tax and national insurance.

In 2018 the government launched a new scheme called Tax-Free Childcare (TFC) which changes the package of financial support it offers to working parents.

Detailed in the tabs below you will find Childcare Voucher/TFC information in place within your Board.

    National Services Scotland

The NSS Childcare Voucher Scheme is a salary sacrifice scheme which enables you to take part of your salary in Childcare vouchers in order to take advantage of tax and NI savings.

For further general information, please visit www.childcarevouchers.co.uk

Please contact Payroll for any queries - NSS Service Now

Please note, that this scheme has now closed to new applicants.

    NHS 24

For staff that are currently receiving Childcare Vouchers these are provided by Eden Red.  You can choose to exchange part of your salary for Childcare Vouchers to pay for your registered or approved childcare and you don’t have to pay tax or National Insurance (NI) on the value of vouchers you choose to take.

Unfortunately, the Government closed the Childcare Vouchers scheme to new entrants on 4th October 2018, this means that if you’re looking to join Childcare Vouchers for the first time this option is no longer available to you.  If you are currently a member of the Childcare Vouchers scheme and would like to amend or cancel your salary sacrifice please print and complete the form below, scan it and return it to the HR Department by sending it to HRBusinessSupportTeam@nhs24.scot.nhs.uk from your NHS 24 work email address.

If considering cancelling please note that you will not, at a later date, be able to rejoin the scheme as it is closed.  You can however decide to drop your monthly amount to £1, therefore retaining membership of the scheme, and this can be increased at any point should your childcare needs change in the future.

This is a closed scheme and, as such, is only accessible by existing NSS and Health Scotland childcare voucher scheme members.

Edenred will shortly be issuing registration details (by email) to all impacted staff.  This will be issued to your nhs.net email address.

Please remember to check your ‘junk’ folder just in case your registration email is diverted there.

If you are an existing scheme member and you have not received your registration email by Friday 10th April 2020, please contact HR Services via the ‘Contact Us’ link on HR Connect and we will liaise directly with Edenred on your behalf.
