Are there any guidelines for entering absence onto SSTS for staff who are off long term i.e. more than 28 days, as there are implications for half/no pay.

When entering long term absence on SSTS, especially for employees who are on, or going on to half or no pay, it is important that you extend the absence to the last day of the month if you know they are not expected or are unlikely to return by then.

This is extremely important for sick pay purposes, as the Payroll system calculates to the end of each month and will use the last date entered as the absence end date and return them to full pay from the next day.
